Here’s a yacht charter destination that I rarely see promoted: the coast of Tanzania, in southeast Africa.
That’s where the classic 114-foot motoryacht Over the Rainbow is based, with charter dates open through the end of March, according to management company Camper & Nicholsons International.
Over the Rainbow was built in 1930. She’s had numerous owners throughout the years, cruising everywhere from Greece to the South of France. Her current owner took over in 2002 and sent her to Italy, where a rebuild included extending the top deck aft. The interior remains filled with warm woodwork that hearkens back to the Golden Age of Yachting.
Over the Rainbow accommodates eight to 10 guests in four staterooms. She charters with five crew. The lowest weekly base rate is €58,000.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book a week on board to explore the Tanzania coast.
