Edmiston and Company tells me the 162-foot Feadship motoryacht Highlander is dropping her weekly base rate by nearly 25 percent to entice a Christmas and New Year’s charter booking in the Caribbean, from December 17 through January 3 in St. Barts and the British Virgin Islands.
For any 10-day period during that date range, the regular base rate would be about $270,850. With the discount, it drops to a 10-day base rate of $210,000.
Highlander entered the charter market in 2014 with a great deal of publicity. She originally was built as The Highlander in 1986 for media titan Malcolm Forbes. She is a Jon Bannenberg design that had people agog even before they learned about her guest list, which included movie stars like Robert De Niro and world leaders like Margaret Thatcher. The yacht not only had traditional staterooms and guest areas but also boasted conference rooms for events.
The new owners added 12 feet to Highlander‘s stern in the recent refit, allowing her transom to have a more traditional look with better access to the water. The sundeck also was extended, and the main deck is now totally focused on guest relaxation instead of corporate events. Zero-speed stabilizers were added along with a new sound and video system, and more, to bring the yacht fully up to date for charter.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Highlander or help you book her at the newly announced incentive rate for a holiday yacht charter in the Caribbean.
