Nicholson Yachts sends word that the classic 115-foot schooner Eros has completed a refit and is now headed to the Caribbean for the winter charter season, when her weekly base rate will be $42,000.
Eros launched in 1939 at Brooks Motor Craft in Britain. She became part of the Royal Navy during World War II and then returned to the waters as a private yacht in the Mediterranean.
Her current owners have had her since 1992, and have made it their goal to complete a museum-quality restoration of the classic sailing yacht. The most recent work included new upholstery, teak deck furniture and a new Zodiac tender.
Eros accommodates eight guests in four staterooms. The master has a queen-size bed, the VIP has a double, and the remaining two guest staterooms have upper-and-lower berths with a shared bathroom.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Eros or help you book a week on board. In the meantime, check out this slide show of how spiffy the yacht is looking post-refit:
