Nicholson Yachts has a tempting offer for anyone interested in regatta yacht charter: The 115-foot schooner Eros is available for bookings at the St. Barths Bucket Regatta and the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta.
Eros is a head-turner at such events because of her classic styling. She launched in 1939 at Brooks Motor Craft in Britain, became part of the Royal Navy during World War II and then returned to the waters as a private yacht in the Mediterranean.
Her current owners have had her since 1992, and have made it their goal to complete a museum-quality restoration. The most recent work included new upholstery, teak deck furniture and a new Zodiac tender.
Eros accommodates eight guests in four staterooms (but 12 guests can be aboard by day, for the racing). Overnight guests stay in the master, which has a queen-size bed, the VIP has a double, and the remaining two guest staterooms have upper-and-lower berths with a shared bathroom.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Eros or help you book her for this winter’s Caribbean regattas. Her lowest weekly base rate is $42,000 plus race expenses and regular expenses.
