Here’s an interesting way to start the week: Nicholson Yachts tells me the 75-foot Privilege sailing catamaran Matau will be chartering in New Zealand from December 1, 2015, through April 30, 2016, and then in Tahiti, Bora Bora and the rest of the Society Islands from August 15, 2016, through October 15, 2016.
Matau is one of my favorite sailing cats in the charter industry. I cruised on board Matau a few years ago in the Grenadines, and I got onboard again about a year ago in Antigua, where I met her new captain–who was adding a serious scuba component to the yacht’s activities menu. (That will be great in the South Pacific, where the diving can be extraordinary.) I was also pleased to see that chef Adrian Martin had joined the crew. He has earned an award in the Antigua Charter Yacht Show’s culinary competition twice now.
Matau accommodates eight guests in four staterooms. One has a king-size bed and three have queen-size beds, making her a great yacht for adult couples to charter together as a group.
The weekly base rate in New Zealand and the South Pacific will be $55,000, which includes fuel, ship’s bar and most other expenses.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Matau or help you book one of her charter dates in these exciting new destinations.
