Camper and Nicholsons International tells me that three of the motoryachts in its fleet are now promoting special offers in the Mediterranean and the Bahamas.
The largest of the motoryachts is the 183-foot Benetti Galaxy, which is currently offering nine days for the usual seven-day weekly base rate of €255,000. I’ve been aboard her several times, most recently in the spring of 2009, and she has always looked lovely inside and out. (That’s her split-level master suite in the photograph at right.) Camper says the yacht had all new soft furnishings installed last winter, in advance of the current charter season, so she should be in sparkling good shape for charters throughout the rest of this summer in the Mediterranean.
Next is the 98-foot Benetti Salu, which has a gap to fill from August 25 through September 8 in the South of France. The normal two-week base rate for those dates would be €130,000, but the owner is trying to entice clients with a special two-week base rate of €110,000. That’s a savings of 15 percent. I was last aboard Salu in spring 2009 and thought she packed an awful lot of big-boat features into a smaller motoryacht package.
Last this week from CNI is word that the 112-foot Westport Symphony II is offering a $7,000-per-week discount this summer in the Bahamas, where her new weekly base rate is $49,500. I was last aboard Symphony II in December 2008, when I enjoyed a luncheon onboard. The captain, chef, and management company have all changed since my visit, so I’d suggest requesting a recent crew profile and client feedback before booking.
Galaxy takes 12 guests with 15 crew, while Salu and Symphony II each take eight guests with five crew.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about these yachts or help you book charters this summer at the discounted rates.
