One of my all-time favorite yachts for anyone who wants to seriously turn heads is the 122-foot Heesen motoryacht Aurelia. She has long been popular for charter in the West Mediterranean overall, and now Fraser Yachts Worldwide tells me that Aurelia has received a license for charter in Spain. Bookings can begin immediately in the Balearic Isles.
I’ve been a fan of Aurelia since I first got aboard several years ago in Italy. I had only seen photographs of her exterior prior to that, and based on the paint job’s race car theme, I worried that the interior was going to be waaaay out there.
I was so pleasantly surprised during my onboard tour of Aurelia. The decor continues the race car theme, but in a way that is tasteful, contemporary and just plain cool. There is not another charter yacht like her, and I mean that in a very good way.
That Italy boat show where I got on board for the first time was also the first chance the charter industry had to see Aurelia, which launched in 2011. Since then, the yacht has completed quite a few charters, and a refit was done in 2013. Plenty of references from previous charter clients should be available, along with information about the yacht’s most recent updates.
The lowest weekly base rate is €105,000 to charter Aurelia this summer. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book a week onboard in Spain.
