Now here’s something you don’t see every day: The 162-foot Feadship motoryacht Highlander is offering a special, monthlong base rate of $300,000 for a booking from February 10 through March 10, with an itinerary from St. Barts to the Grenadines.
Edimston and Company regularly markets Highlander at a weekly base rate of $180,000. That means a monthlong charter’s regular base price is $720,000, and the $300,000 offer represents a savings of $420,000. That’s nearly a half-million bucks.
Highlander entered the charter market in 2014 with a great deal of publicity. She originally was built as The Highlander in 1986 for media titan Malcolm Forbes. She is a Jon Bannenberg design that had people agog even before they learned about her guest list, which included movie stars like Robert De Niro and world leaders like Margaret Thatcher. The yacht not only had traditional staterooms and guest areas but also boasted conference rooms for events.
The new owners added 12 feet to Highlander‘s stern in the recent refit, allowing her transom to have a more traditional look with better access to the water. The sundeck also was extended, and the main deck is now totally focused on guest relaxation instead of corporate events. Zero-speed stabilizers were added along with a new sound and video system, and more, to bring the yacht fully up to date for charter.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Highlander or help you book her at the newly announced monthly rate for a charter beginning February 10 in the northern Caribbean.
