Fraser Yachts Worldwide recently honored the captains and crew of top charter yachts in the company’s fleet. There were three categories, one for overall winner and two for charter yachts above and below 164 feet in length.
In the overall category, the Charter Captain of the Year Award went to Rob Shelnut on Lady Sara, a 187-foot Trinity motoryacht that has spent the summer in the Mediterranean. She’ll now move to the Bahamas for the winter charter season, taking 12 guests at a weekly base rate of $350,000.
In the larger-yacht category, the Best Charter Crew Award went to Capt. Paul Bickley and the team aboard Latitude, a 170-foot Benetti motoryacht that is based in the Mediterranean year-round. She takes 12 guests at a lowest weekly base rate of €231,000.
In the smaller-yacht category, the Best Charter Crew Award went to Guy Booth and the team on Aurelia, a 122-foot Heesen motoryacht that also is based in the Mediterranean year-round. She takes eight guests at a lowest weekly base rate of €120,000. (I was aboard the yacht Aurelia in 2012 and am a big fan of both Capt. Booth and the yacht herself.)
This was the 15th year that Fraser Yachts Worldwide has hosted the captains’ dinner and awards. Congratulations to the winners!
