Emotion is a 141-foot CRN motoryacht that launched in 2007 as Emerald Star. She chartered under that name for several years before being sold to a new owner in October 2011. He brought in a new crew, had a new interior décor installed, upgraded the entertainment system, and changed the yacht’s name to Emotion. I got onboard again in spring 2012 just as Emotion was preparing to re-enter the charter market with her new looks.
The new entertainment system is indeed state-of-the-art. It’s a Kaleidescape server for music and movies that is controlled by iPads in all the guest areas. There is also now WiFi throughout the yacht, as well as SkyTV, Blu-ray, and surround sound.
Emotion’s new décor features bursts of red that are quite a bit different from the yacht’s previous, more neutral look. The new lighting fixtures in particular add a more contemporary ambience. Overall, though, Emotion remains comfortable for adults and families alike.
The new crew aboard Emotion is led by Capt. Anders Pehrson, a native of Sweden with 15 years of yachting experience. He previously worked onboard well-known charter yachts including Apogee, Atlantic Goose, and Diane.
Emotion’s new chef is Max Biasiol, an Italian-born cook who not only cooks Mediterranean cuisine but who also has worked in Thailand and is trained in Japanese and traditional Asian styles.
Emotion accommodates 10 guests in five cabins. The lowest weekly base rate is €126,000, and Burgess Yachts is the management company.
