Last month I told you about the 57-foot Fountaine-Pajot sailing yacht Zimaya, a brand-new build that is launching in October and that Select Yachts is welcoming into the Caribbean charter fleet this winter.
Now comes word that the owner is offering a 5-percent discount on charters this winter, as long as the paperwork is signed by the end of September. With the rate decrease, the weekly base rate drops from $25,000 to $23,750.
Because Zimaya is still under construction, the photograph at right is of a sistership that has similar looks. Ten guests will be accommodated in five staterooms, and the layout is ideal for adult couples who want to charter together, thanks to all the beds being about queen size. Other guest areas include a large salon with 7 feet of headroom, and a popular upper lounge deck where guests can enjoy terrific water views without being in the way of the skipper or crew at the helm.
The crew aboard Zimaya will be Capt. Sheldon Lindsay and chef Vanessa Bush, who won several awards at a recent BVI Charter Yacht Show.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Zimaya or help you get winter cruising dates on paper before the end of this month to receive the 5-percent discount.
