Churchill Yacht Partners tells me the 140-foot Proteksan-Turquoise motoryacht Capricorn is still open for a Christmas charter booking in the Caribbean.
The available dates are December 15-27, round trip out of Sint Maarten.
Capricorn is a 2002 launch that was built as the personal yacht of the shipyard’s owner. He used her mostly in the Mediterranean. The current owner took over in 2012 and brought her from the Mediterranean to the United States for the first time, and she has since been chartering in this part of the world. I was most recently on board Capricorn in May 2013 in New England, where the yacht was showing off all the toys the owner had purchased for charter clients. They include a 27-foot Scout tender, a 10-foot sailing dinghy, kayaks, paddleboards, fishing gear, snorkeling gear and more.
Longtime charter broker Carol Kent gave me an interview about a charter aboard Capricorn in early 2014. She had favorable things to say about the crew as well as the yacht, including how its stabilizer system kept guests comfortable in some windy, roughed-up Caribbean waters.
The weekly base rate to charter Capricorn during the Christmas holiday is $160,000 for 12 guests in six staterooms. Any reputable charter broker can help you secure the holiday itinerary.
