British Students Row the Atlantic

University students Jamie Sparks and Luke Birch decided on a whim one day that they would attempt to row the Atlantic. If successful, they will be the youngest duo ever to do so.

They started the 3000 mile journey from La Gomera to Antigua on the 4th of December, and over the course of the next few months, will push their bodies to their very limits, constantly rowing in two hour shifts and burning around 10000 calories a day.

The 2 Boys in a Boat are aiming to go one step further than Ben Fogle and James Cracknell, who finished second place in the Tallisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in 2005, and have almost raised their £100 000 target for Breast Cancer Care.

What’s more, they will be doing a good part of it completely naked to avoid chaiffage.

So if you happen to be chartering in the Atlantic this Christmas and see two naked, bearded rowers, be sure to wish them good luck!

Check out a video of them here.
