The American Yacht Charter Association has elected new leadership. Longtime broker Carol Kent of the eponymous charter agency in Massachusetts is now the AYCA president.

“I am honored and delighted to assume this leadership position, and encourage ongoing education and communication within our changing industry,” Kent stated in a press release. “This is the time for our association to grow stronger in the international arena. We are a select group of American charter professionals, collaborating with strong ties to MYBA, our Mediterranean partners.”

The AYCA also elected a new board of directors. Jenny Trotter of Virginia-based Meridian Yacht Charters is vice president; and board members include Karen Kelly Shea of Nicholson Yachts, Rebecca Riley of All Things on the Water, Sandy Carney of Sanderson Yachting, Bob Saxon of HMY Yachts, Leann Pliske of International Yacht Collection, Kathleen Mullen of Regency Yacht Charters, Beverly Parsons of Interpac Yacht Charters, and Susan Harris or HMY Yachts.

The AYCA was formed in 1986. It represents yacht charter professionals with a minimum of seven years full-time experience in arranging yacht vacations world-wide.
