On Monday, I told you about the 108-fooot Alloy sailing yacht Marae accepting inquiries for fall foliage charters on the Chesapeake Bay. Now comes word from Edmiston and Company that the 97-foot Santa Margherita motoryacht Sima also has fall-foliage charter availability.
Sima joined the Edmiston fleet in July and is based on New York’s Hudson River in the Manhattan area. That means she can offer itineraries that include everything from a cruise past the Statue of Liberty to a cruise up the river to West Point–an itinerary that is tailor-made for seeing the leaves change from green to red, orange and yellow at this time of year. At the season’s peak, greater New York City looks like the photograph at right. It’s absolutely stunning.
Sima is a 1983 build that most recently was refit in 2008. She can accommodate 12 guests on day cruises or eight guests overnight. Corporate charters are also an option.
The weekly base rate to charter Sima is $40,000. Day charters start at $8,000. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book some time aboard as the peak autumn cruising dates approach.
