If you are looking for evidence that the superyacht charter market is going full-steam, then look no further than the 196-foot Lurssen motoryacht Arkley. Imperial Yachts tells me she already has about eight weeks of charters booked in the Mediterranean this summer at a lowest weekly base rate of €430,000.
Remaining dates of availability include May 17 through June 24, the first week of July, August 15-23, and all of September.
I was on board Arkley in spring 2013, just before the 2009 build entered the charter market in earnest. She is an impressive superyacht whose main salon (shown in the photograph at right) is welcoming and adjoins an open space with a library as well as a baby grand player piano. Her dining room on the main deck seats 14 people comfortably, and the master suite forward on this deck is an actual suite with a king-size bed and a full-size study. The his-and-her bathrooms in this suite are done in Italian marble (a steam room is part of the equipment), and the rest of the suite’s décor continues the guest-area themes of zebra wood squares, woven leather panels, bamboo and waved oak. The color palette is neutral, and the styling and textures are memorable. That’s true not only on this deck, but also throughout the entire yacht.
Arkley accommodates a total of 12 charter guests in six staterooms (including that main-deck suites). Two of the guest staterooms have twin beds that convert to queens, and the owner has young children, which means safety gear and toys for tots are all aboard and ready to go.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Arkley or help you book her during the remaining dates that are available this summer in the Mediterranean.
