International Yacht Collection has named Barbara Stork Landeweer the charter broker of the year for 2012.
This is the second consecutive year that Landeweer has won the award.
Landweer booked charters aboard some truly impressive yachts in 2012, including the 295-foot Corsair motoryacht Nero, the 230-foot Benetti motoryacht Reverie, the 228-foot motoryacht Sherakhan, the 169-foot Alloy sailing yacht Mondango, the 164-foot Trinity motoryacht Wheels, the 164-foot Feadship motoryacht Troyanda, the 145-foot Heesen motoryacht At Last, the 125-foot Trinity motoryacht Wheels, and the 103-foot Sonship motoryacht Child’s Play.
Taken together, the weekly base rates of those yachts as advertised last year have a total value of about $2.7 million.
IYC also honored Mark Elliott as sales broker of the year for 2012. It is the sixth time that Elliott has received the award.
“I congratulate Barbara and Mark on their exceptional performance during 2012,” IYC President Bob Saxon stated in a press release. “They both continue to exhibit superlative performance in the highly specialized fields of charter vacation and yacht sales, respectively. To perform as they have in an extremely challenging marketplace speaks volumes about their selling skills and sensitivities to their clients’ needs. More, both have administrative teams who are the best in the business. By extension, congratulations to Laura Berton and Alicia Ewing as well, Charter and Sales Assistants.”
I’d like to add my personal congratulations to both Landeweer and Elliott, both of whom I have known for many years, and both of whom always are the utmost professionals when I see them at boat shows or interview them by telephone.
